Hi, my name is Wendy Hemingway and I’d be proud to be your new
photographer.  I have been in the Evansville area off and on over the course of
my life and spent most of my “growing up” years here.  I moved to the
Evansville area in 1980, met my husband, and have lived in many areas of the
U.S. since our marriage.  However, with most of our family here in the
Southern Indiana region, we decided it was time to move home after having
two children.  We have a boy and a girl, ages
6 and 4.  So I understand the
difficulty in getting young children to cooperate and I have the patience to wait
them out!

I have always loved photography and felt I wanted to do more than just take
snapshots.  In the past, I worked at McDonalds Photography and Schmitt
Photo and learned much of what I know from the individuals at those
companies.  A big thank you goes out to those people who had the patience to
teach a young girl about photography and studio work.  When we recently
moved back to the area, I decided it was time to do that “something more”.

I believe in honesty and giving the customer what they want.   I strive towards
getting your proofs and orders to you as fast as possible; usually within a few
days, not a few weeks.  I shoot in digital format and can create scenes, framing,
and black and white portraits.  If you’ve got an idea about what you’d like to
see, please let me know.  It’s your memories, and I want to help in capturing
your essence, not just what I think would look good.

By the way, in case you were wondering, Steinhaus Fotographie is German for
stone house photography.  Our home is made of stone and we’re of German
descent, so this name seemed like a natural fit!
